File Viewer

Open your txt/md manuscripts without uploading them, read the text steadily, and inspect the story structure and mood.

What File Viewer is for

File Viewer is the fastest way to bring your own text into Omnilude. Use it for finished manuscripts, drafts, worldbuilding notes, or public reference text when you want to understand the characters, events, and structure before shaping the story further.

The core rule is to open the selected source text safely inside the browser. In the ordinary reading flow, the file is not stored on the server, and any feature that requires external processing must provide separate notice and confirmation.

How to open a file

Choose a txt or md fileSelect a text file from the File Viewer screen. Long manuscripts can be displayed as scenes or chapters.
Pick a reading modeUse Text View for fast reading. Views for checking scene and dialogue flow are provided according to supported scope.
Keep reading progressWhen the browser allows it, Omnilude stores the last reading position and display settings for the next visit.
Reopen the same fileBrowsers restrict automatic reopening of local files. Select the same file again to restore matched progress.

Reading tools

Text ViewA text-first reading surface for long passages, search, and stable navigation.
Scene ViewA view that separates dialogue and scene transitions more clearly. It is useful on supported screens for drafts with strong dialogue or scene flow.
Display settingsFont size, line height, theme, and auto-advance settings help reduce fatigue during long reading sessions.

Privacy and storage

Local source files selected in File Viewer are not uploaded by default. To continue on another device, select the file again on that device.

Any flow that stores or publishes the source text through another feature requires separate rights confirmation and storage-location notice. Files with unclear copyright status should stay within personal reading use.
